Our SERVPRO fire and smoke restoration technicians (FSRT) can assess the damage and take the proper steps to mitigate the fire damage. The trim can be sanded to remove the charred layer, and special wet chemical sponges can remove most of the sooty film from the surfaces in this room. Not visible in a photograph is the pungent odors from the fire. We can place hydroxyl generators fitted with HEPA filters to capture a large portion of the smelly particulates even as the generated radicals neutralize odor-causing molecules. The After Photo depicts the area wiped down and clean as possible. Now a special odor-blocking primer can be painted as a first coat.
