Thanksgiving Day Without a Parade? Macy’s Manhattan Tradition Adapts and Emerges Triumphant
11/9/2020 (Permalink)
Enjoy the Fun and Festivity of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade Virtually from Midtown Manhatten’s Herald Square
A special event, anticipated and watched by millions every year, will not see its 90-year history of glitz, energy, or balloons grounded in 2020. Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade this year takes on a different slant but still delivers the holiday entertainment. Filmed over two days in front of Macy’s flagship on Herald Square in midtown Manhattan, the pageantry and fun come to fans on-screen during its airing on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, at 9:00 am Eastern Time.
Changes include:
- Deferring out-of-town participants for this year
- Focusing on local talent -- socially distanced
- Wrangling the signature balloons with specially engineered vehicles, not humans
